The Vibe, The Glitches, and The Big Picture
Beyond the music, the festival offered plenty for everyone. A whole host of family-friendly activities were included in the ticket price, giving kids just as much to enjoy as the adults. It gave the weekend a real community vibe and made it feel like more than just a music event.
That said, there were a couple of stumbles:
Saturday bar queues were a major issue, with reports of up to 1.5-hour waits for drinks. Thankfully, this was quickly addressed by Sunday with the addition of a second bar.
Sunday saw a dramatic moment when lightning was spotted nearby and the entire festival was suddenly shut down, with an announcement stating it was cancelled and to contact ticket providers for a refund.
Just five minutes later, the weather cleared and the music resumed β but the lack of clear communication from staff left many confused and frustrated in the moment.
Final Thoughts
All in all, Country On The Common was a bold, confident step forward for the UK country scene. With a fully British line-up, outstanding crowd turnout, and serious musical quality across both days, the festival made its mark.
Letβs hope it returns for a second year β because if this weekend proved anything, itβs that thereβs huge demand for country music in London. And weβre more than ready for it.
