Long Road Festival 2026 Preview: The UK Artists Ready to Shine Alongside World-Class Headliners

Long Road Festival 2026 Preview: The UK Artists Ready to Shine Alongside World-Class Headliners

Having covered The Long Road Festival for the past four years and attended every edition since it began, I've had the privilege of watching both the festival and the UK country scene grow together.

What started as an ambitious idea to bring authentic Americana to the UK has become the country's premier country, roots and Americana festival. Every year the lineup gets stronger, the crowds get bigger and, just as importantly, the opportunities for UK artists continue to grow.

That has always been one of the things I admire most about The Long Road. While many festivals rely almost entirely on imported headline acts, The Long Road continues to champion homegrown talent, giving British artists the chance to perform alongside Grammy winners, Americana legends and some of Nashville's biggest names.

The 2026 lineup is another perfect example.

Yes, there are world-class headliners throughout the weekend, but if history has taught me anything, it's that some of the performances everyone talks about afterwards happen long before the main stage lights come on.

Here's why this year's festival looks set to be another unforgettable weekend.

Why The Long Road Continues to Set the Standard

Every festival has great artists.

Very few have an identity.

The Long Road has built its reputation by creating an experience rather than simply putting on concerts. From the moment you arrive at Stanford Hall, you're surrounded by country, Americana and roots music, with six stages spread across beautiful grounds and something happening from morning until late into the night.

It isn't just about seeing the biggest names.

It's about discovering artists you've never heard before, catching intimate acoustic sets, meeting musicians after their performances and finding yourself wandering into a tent simply because you heard a voice that stopped you in your tracks.

As someone who's covered festivals across the UK, that's what separates The Long Road.

The festival genuinely believes in artist discovery.

British artists aren't hidden away in the smallest corners of the site. They're programmed throughout the weekend alongside internationally recognised names, allowing festival-goers to experience the incredible depth of talent the UK country scene now offers.

The headline names this year immediately grab attention.

The Shires open Friday.

Bailey Zimmerman headlines Saturday.

Maren Morris closes Sunday with an exclusive UK performance.

Alongside them are Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Josh Ross, Shakey Graves and Anne Wilson.

It's a lineup most festivals would be proud of.

But don't make the mistake of only planning your day around those names.

The magic of The Long Road has always happened between the headlines.

Friday Preview: The Weekend Begins with British Talent

Friday couldn't have a more fitting headliner than The Shires.

As the UK's most successful country duo, they helped pave the way for many of the artists appearing across the rest of the weekend. Their catalogue has become part of British country music history, and they remain one of the country's strongest live acts.

Steve Earle's solo acoustic performance promises something completely different before American favourites The 502s inject plenty of energy into the evening.

Friday's UK Artists and indie You Shouldn't Miss

Away from the headline stage, Friday is stacked with quality British performers and independant acts .

HarleyMoon Kemp continues to impress every time she steps on stage. Her confidence as a performer has grown enormously over the last few years, combining modern country with pop influences while never losing her identity.

Rose Betts brings beautifully crafted songwriting and an effortless ability to draw audiences into every lyric.

Muireann Bradley may lean further towards blues and folk than traditional country, but her remarkable guitar playing makes her one of the weekend's most fascinating performers.

Harper O'Neill is another artist whose songwriting deserves your attention, while Chanel Yates continues establishing herself as one of the brightest young voices emerging from the UK country scene.

Don't overlook Striking Matches either. Their musicianship alone makes them worth arriving early.

Friday perfectly sums up what makes The Long Road special.

Big names attract the crowds.

The smaller stages create lifelong fans.

Saturday Preview: Rising Stars and Festival Favourites

Saturday belongs to one of country's biggest new stars.

Bailey Zimmerman has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past few years and arrives at Stanford Hall with one of the most energetic live shows in modern country music.

Earlier in the day, Josh Ross continues proving why so many believe he's destined for arena headline tours.

Saturday's UK Highlights & indie

If there's one UK act who always seems to leave people smiling, it's First Time Flyers.

Their harmonies, musicianship and infectious stage presence have made them genuine festival favourites, and The Long Road always feels like home for them.

Twinnie has become one of Britain's biggest country exports.

Whether performing in the UK or Nashville, she commands every stage she steps onto and continues pushing British country music onto the international scene.

Chandler Walters is another artist worth making time for, while Jason Scott & The High Heat, Uncle Lucius, Shaylen and Susto Stringband ensure Saturday offers one of the most varied days of the entire festival.

Expect packed stages throughout.

Sunday Preview: Legends Meet the UK's Finest

Sunday brings together history, heritage and modern country music.

Maren Morris headlines with a UK-exclusive appearance that alone makes this year's festival unforgettable.

Before that comes what may prove one of the emotional performances of the weekend.

Emmylou Harris begins her European Farewell Tour.

Few artists have influenced country, folk and Americana more than Harris, making this a genuine bucket-list performance.

Shakey Graves, The Felice Brothers and Anne Wilson complete one of the strongest closing days The Long Road has ever assembled.

Sunday's British Stars & indie

If you've never seen Kezia Gill live, make this your year.

There are few performers capable of connecting with an audience quite like she can. Her energy is infectious, her vocals never disappoint and she continues proving why she's one of the UK's leading country artists.

Ryan & Rory continue building momentum through outstanding songwriting and harmonies, while Lily Fitts and Emily Scott Robinson bring their own distinctive styles to Sunday afternoon.

By the time Maren Morris closes the festival, you'll have experienced one of the strongest final days seen at Stanford Hall.

Five UK Artists I Wouldn't Miss

Every lineup is subjective, but if you're looking for recommendations, these are the five UK artists I'd make a point of seeing.

Kezia Gill

One of the best live performers in British country music today.

HarleyMoon Kemp

A brilliant stage performer whose confidence grows every year.

First Time Flyers

Fantastic harmonies and a live show that's impossible not to enjoy.

Twinnie

An artist flying the flag for UK country on the international stage.

Johnny Morgan & The Moral Support

One of those bands that simply make festivals more enjoyable. Honest songs, great musicianship and always a crowd-pleasing performance.

UK Artists Performing Across the Weekend

One of my favourite parts of The Long Road is following artists across multiple stages over the course of the weekend.

Among those appearing throughout the festival are:

  • Johnny Morgan & The Moral Support

  • Outpost Drive

  • Smithfield

  • Rosalie Cunningham

  • Sarah Jane Scouten

  • Stella Prince

  • Liam Price

  • Noah James

  • Riley Downing

  • Trever Moss & Hannah-Lou

  • Simon Howard

  • Luca Fogale

  • Bec O'Malley

  • Hayley Jensen

  • Jordan O'Keeffe

  • Sweet Thieves

  • The Hanging Stars

Many of these artists perform multiple sets in different settings, allowing fans to experience stripped-back acoustic sessions alongside full-band festival performances.

If you've never explored every stage before, make 2026 the year you do.

The International Headliners

While my focus is always on supporting UK artists, this year's headline lineup deserves enormous credit.

The Shires remain Britain's biggest country success story.

Bailey Zimmerman represents the new generation of Nashville superstars.

Maren Morris brings one of the most anticipated UK-exclusive performances of the year.

Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris represent genuine legends whose influence stretches across decades.

Josh Ross, Shakey Graves and Anne Wilson complete a lineup packed with quality from top to bottom.

Beyond the Music

The Long Road has never simply been about concerts.

Across four days you'll also find:

  • Six stages of live music.

  • Beginner, advanced and family line dancing.

  • Country Club late-night parties.

  • Red Dog Saloon BBQ.

  • Country bingo.

  • Barn dances.

  • Artist signings.

  • Open mic sessions.

  • Country crafting.

  • Cowboy Olympics.

  • Dog show.

  • Food competitions.

  • Vintage Americana displays.

  • Family entertainment.

  • Late-night hootenannies.

It all adds up to an experience that feels far bigger than the lineup poster alone can ever show.

Final Thoughts

Every festival has headliners.

The Long Road has something more valuable.

It has a habit of introducing you to artists you'll still be listening to years later.

Yes, Bailey Zimmerman, Maren Morris, Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris will rightly draw huge crowds.

But don't spend your whole weekend waiting for the evening.

Arrive when the gates open.

Explore every stage.

Take a chance on artists you've never heard before.

Support the incredible UK acts who continue making this one of the most exciting country music scenes anywhere in Europe.

By Sunday night, you'll have seen world-class performers, discovered new favourites and almost certainly started planning your return for 2027.

That's the magic of The Long Road Festival.
