Every Bone of Her Soul: Emilia Quinn’s "Call Me By Her Name

Call Me By Her Name - Emilia Quinn

The first listen to the full track hit me hard emotionally.

The start—just the bare bones of her vocals—the captivating tone she’s conveying is just outstanding. She's gripping you in for a story she needs to tell. The heart is broken.

Lyrics like “even if there’s one little spark left”—that’s a hard-hitting verse, and the vocal moments throughout the track, with elongated vocal runs and perfectly laced background harmonies later on, make it even stronger.

The lyric “because if theres even on spark left in the ruins of us” gives a goosebump vocal moment, showcasing the heartbreak and pain she’s conveying.

The vocal runs and moments—you can feel she is giving you every inch, every bone of her soul.

The subtle building harmonies/choir in the background and the magic guitar convey the emotion but never overpower her.

The whole track is tender, raw, and emotional.

Subjectively, it might be the most personal release she’s ever put out—even though it’s not based on personal life when it was written. But “portent” comes to mind in recent weeks as I’ve been following her journey from day one—finding herself as an artist that just bares it all.

This is hands down the best song she has ever released and recorded.

A stunning, timeless masterpiece that will be featuring on her upcoming second album, Dented Halos.

I’m getting in now—because when she’s playing O2-sized venues, I’ll be chasing that photo pass!
